Mission
As a size-inclusive, non-diet eating disorders dietitian practice, Attuned Nutrition's mission is to provide compassionate, individualized outpatient eating disorder treatment or support for clients as they explore their relationship with food. ‘Attunement’ is our innate ability to be notice and respond to our needs. We believe that everyone is deserving of attunement with their bodies and nutrition. This practice offers a respectful environment for you to work towards self compassion throughout the eating disorder recovery or prevention process.
Hello! I'm Kristin Kren RD, LD, CEDS-C
I'm a Registered Dietitian through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist + Supervisor through the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals. I received my dietetic training and internship through the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. I hold dietetic licensure in Kentucky, Arkansas, and Indiana.
I have experience working in many levels of care including outpatient, intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization, and the residential level. I have trained other eating disorder dietitians, and worked closely with patients' teams of physicians, therapists, nurses, administration, teachers, coaches, families, and other support persons. Teamwork has been an important part of my role and I would be happy to work with your team as well.
Populations of interest: (these are the groups of people I relate to on a personal level, though I enjoy connecting with clients who have any background; I work with clients from diverse backgrounds who are age 10+):
- Dancers/Athletes: I am a former ballerina and have an understanding of the pressures that are a part of that culture, as well as the unique challenges that athletes face.
- Military/Veterans: Being a military spouse for over a decade and having my dietetic internship at the VA Medical Center has increased my awareness of the unique challenges military families and veterans experience.
- College students or anyone experiencing big life changes.
My favorite part of this work is getting to know and learn from my clients.
I have a great appreciation for their trust and sharing their stories, truths, hopes, and recovery successes with me.
Outside of this role, you'll find me working with flowers, traveling, crafting, reading, hiking, or spending time with my loved ones.
Locations
In-Person
In-person dietitian sessions are available for clients in the Louisville, KY metro as well as southern Indiana.
Virtual
Virtual dietitian sessions are offered through a HIPAA compliant Telehealth platform to clients in the US in these states: Kentucky, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Indiana, and any states that do not have LD requirements. Preference is to do initial sessions in person if you are local.
